Are you looking to get your first massage in Denver Colorado, but don’t know where to start? With all of the types of massage therapy offered, the quest of finding your perfect therapist can be a bit overwhelming, but don’t worry, it’s easy to know where to search with a few helpful tips on the modalities and purposes of massage according to your specific needs. You live in a city with some of the greatest bodywork practitioners in the nation, and it would be a shame not to take advantage of them and get your first or fiftieth massage while you are here in this beautiful city! It all depends on what you are looking for, so let’s start there! Finding the right Denver massage therapist can be easy, when you know what to look for. A few of the main reasons people seek out massage therapy is to deal with back pain, migraines, and general muscle tension; however, like most forms of alternative medicine, the benefits far surpass the initial problem that brought you there. Whether you are looking to improve your posture, aid in your body’s recovery from the latest workout craze, or simply unwind after a long day of work, there is a massage for that! Are you a swimmer, a runner, a cyclist, a yogi, a […]

With the continuing growing trend of health and wellness, there are so many therapists out there. How do you choose which one will fit your needs? I have been on a quest ever since I decided to become an MT, to find (in my own opinion) what qualities make a great therapist. To me, the number one quality a Massage Therapist should have (besides great massage training with extensive knowledge of anatomy) is to be an excellent listener. It is imperative that the therapist can truly hear the issues and concerns their client is facing. They must always keep in mind their current state of health, whether they are on medications, and what their lifestyle is like, etc. The ability to create a treatment session that is 100% client centered, using whichever massage technique and/or modality that will be most beneficial to them in that particular moment is such a necessary quality to have as a massage therapist. Pursuing continuing education is a big “must” to me. I think that if a therapist continually invests in their “massage tools” (meaning the knowledge they have to pull from in a massage session), they are more likely to have more tools in their tool belt to help their clients. It also proves to me that the therapist is serious about their profession […]

I know about massages, I have had thousands upon thousands of them. It really doesn’t seem like yesterday anymore, thinking back many years ago to when I was a child. Even then as a young kid I loved getting rubbed. It was a gentle touch caressing my forehead, or just a light scratch across my back and legs. As I have grown older my body has been beaten up by the years. I also am the lucky recipient of arthritis and a birth defect in my lower back that causes backaches. I guess you would say these days, massage is not simply a luxury for myself, I truly need it to live and function. My sacrum must be pushed down often in order for me to be almost pain free. Besides for pain management, there are many benefits to massage that can play a major role in overall well being. Not only can it help with blood circulation, muscle release, head aches, back pains, stress reduction, but it also can assist with toxin release among many other things. The true testament to the many benefits a great massage can do for you, is how you feel when you get off of the table. I know for myself, being someone that has traveled a lot I would have different massage therapists […]

One of the perks of working for www.bestmassagedenver.com is the sampling of massages that we get to receive from very talented massage therapists from all over. As someone who is a huge massage enthusiast and gets body work done on a regular basis, I feel it is incredibly important to find a therapist that approaches the session from a medical and healing standpoint. I feel it is essential to find a CMT who has thorough knowledge of muscles and how to encourage healing and pain reduction through massage. With so many massage therapists out there it can be difficult to find the right one, and more importantly the ones that truly understand how to manipulate the muscles and know the musculoskeletal system incredibly well. I recently received a massage from RENEW MASSAGE STUDIO by Alicia. The experience was wonderful in every way. I simply arrived at her office located just off I-25 and Washington only a couple miles from downtown. She was very friendly and professional, the massage room was extremely nice and it just felt very relaxing there. There was soft music playing and a nice light aroma in the air. First I filled out a simple questionnaire in which I was asked what type of work I needed done and other pertinent information for the massage. We discussed […]

Raquel M. Carter B.S., C.M.T. has a passion for massage therapy like few do. It truly was a pleasure to recieve body work from her. She was impecibly professional, incredibly friendly and most importantly released the tension that was in my muscles when I visited her. Located at 950 South Cherry Street in Denver, the location is very central and convenient which makes it nice. The office is shared with a chiropractor as well. We give her 5 stars and consider Raquel to be the Best Massage Denver has to offer. The waiting area was very nicely decorated and really gave you a sense of peace and comfort. They were very busy which usually is a good sign. As I entered the massage room and prepared to lay on the table, I couldn’t help but be impressed. Nice soft music in the background to help relax, water trickling down the fountain which was a nice effect as well. As the massage began, Raquel encouraged me to let her know if the pressures were okay. Sometimes you will have to tell the massage therapist to modify their pressure or style. Not with Raquel. It was as though she read my body. It was apparent she knew muscles incredibly well by the way she could maneuver them and cause them to release. […]

Simply as good as it gets. Our visit to Peace Of Mind Massage was incredibly pleasant and tranquil to say the least. From the start, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. The decor in itself was relaxing and decorated in a way where it had a warm, peaceful feel to it. We were asked to fill out a simple questionnaire which only took a moment. There were numerous delicious teas and hot or cold water available in the most beautifully decorated and comfortable waiting room you could imagine. If you’re looking for a massage in Denver, Peace of Mind Massage is definitely worth considering. After a short questionnaire  we were guided to a private massage room where we briefly covered the type of body work that was desired. Immediately the massage therapist began working the desired regions with perfect pressure, keeping in mind specific instructions on areas that needed more attention. It was obvious Peace Of Mind Massage takes great consideration when hiring specialized massage therapists. The therapist knew the muscle names impeccably well and incorporated some useful massage stretch techniques that really felt great. More importantly, it relieved some major discomfort in problem areas. At the end, they even took the time to print out numerous stretches that they recommended.  Finding the best massage in Denver isn’t  always […]

What truly makes a massage the best massage? Is it a relaxation massage or a therapeutic massage, and what is the difference exactly? There seems to be a difference presented in many spas and massage studios where choosing Swedish or Deep Tissue comes with a price and pressure difference. Some wellness centers also seem to provide environments that are more like Doctor’s offices because they’re promoting pain relief. As Massage Therapists, my colleagues and I often hear the complaint of receiving a rub down more than an actual massage when visiting high end spas, or chain massage studios. Does relaxation mean you leave feeling no difference in your muscles but very well lubricated and chilled out? We also hear our clients say they are afraid to choose a modality from the list of services we offer because they aren’t sure if they need a deep tissue massage or what that means. Does deep tissue massage have to mean a painful, unenjoyable experience with hopes of great results in the end? The truth is there is no difference between relaxation massage and therapeutic massage. All massage has the same basic benefits of improved blood flow, tension relief, and relaxation. In my opinion there should not be a difference in price for the various massage modalities. I believe a person should not […]
